coastal ACADEMY

Coastal Academy is a Charter School located on Shoreline’s Campus. A Charter school is a Texas public school that operates under a written performance contract or "charter" by the Texas Education Agency. Created in 1995, Texas public charter schools were created to offer the flexibility to adapt to the educational needs of individual students and encourage innovation in education.

Because charter schools are public,  they are  are open to all children, do not charge tuition, do not have special requirements for admittance, and are not associated with any religion. The leaders and teachers of these student-centered, family and community-engaged schools feel passionately that every Texas student deserves a high-quality education.

During treatment at Shoreline, students are enrolled in Shoreline Coastal Academy. Those who successfully complete all requirements for graduation during this time will earn an accredited diploma from Shoreline Coastal Academy and the State of Texas.
